Stoic School of Life: Epictetus’ Manual for a Happy Stoic Life
Stoic School of Life: Epictetus’ Manual for a Happy Stoic Life

6:00pm to 8:00pm
Adler Study, Room 514

Topic: Epictetus’ Manual for a Happy Stoic Life

We will resume our discussion of one of the foundational sources of Stoicism, the Manual (Enchiridion) by Epictetus (image). Last time, we left off at section 33, so that’s where we will pick things up again. A free version of the Manual can be downloaded here: http://tinyurl.com/2yms6g

The School is inspired by the ancient Greco-Roman schools of philosophy. We will examine the theory and practice of Stoicism as a modern applied philosophy that aids us in navigating a world in some ways just as confusing and uncertain as that of ancient Athens and Rome.

Meeting dates subject to change.
