Wtih Andy Byford, President, NYC Transit Authority
Leaving his position as CEO of the Toronto Transit Commission in December of 2017, Andy Byford took on the job as head of the New York City Transit. Byford was practically born into the job. His father and grandfather worked for the London Transport, and he was a station foreman in the London Underground before running the mass transit in Australia and then Canada. And now he’s taken on the largest public-transit system in North America, with some 8 million passengers a day. He’s vowed to visit all 472 of New York’s subway stations and to ride every bus route — and to make major changes.
