In September 2013, Jared Fox was walking to a gay bar in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. On the sidewalk leading up to the bar, 20 kids were waiting to attack the next person to go in. That night, it happened to be Jared. During this conversation Jared will describe his journey from surviving a hate crime to thriving in creating change with LGBTQ youth.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Jared Fox received his B.A. in Community Organizing/Activism and Politics from Lake Forest College outside of Chicago. He then launched a career driven by his conviction that all students should receive an excellent education, which took him to New Orleans, Louisiana. He relocated to New York City in 2012 and began working for the New York City Department of Education.
