Ethics and the Theater: Admissions by Joshua Harmon

September 13, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Sherri Rosen-Mason has been pushing to raise the percentage of minority students at the New England boarding school where she is admissions officer. Doing so, she and her husband believe, is striking a blow against racial injustice. Then Yale passes over their son in favor of his mixed-race best friend, and their commitment to righting historical wrongs dissolves. Playwright Joshua Harmon skewers this hypocrisy with savage humor, while forcing us to recognize our own flawed idealism.

Join us as members of the Society and theater professionals read selected plays before a live audience. Readings are followed by discussions of the ethical issues raised by the play.

Come at 6:30pm for a reception with snacks and refreshments.

$5 for members, $10 for the public.
