DESCRIPTION:For the first time since March\, we will gather with our children and families as an intergenerational community to celebrate the season of change and challenge that we find ourselves in. The holidays and the arrival of the winter season evokes some nostalgia for a more normal time and yet reminds us that we are a loving\, resourceful\, and resilient community that comes together in times of joy and sadness and uncertainty. Please plan to join us for a morning of gathering\, reflection\, music\, video\, poetry\, and community. \nClick here to join at start time | ID 863 0430 0961\nFor full join information\, please also see this week’s Ethical Weekly email. \nAudrey Kindred has worked with Ethical Culture for two decades\, initially at the Brooklyn Society\, and\, since 2013\, here at Ethical NYC. Ethics is the core mission in all of Audrey’s teaching in and beyond Ethical — in fields of literacy\, global studies\, art\, dance and yoga. For the past six years she has been a teacher at the Trilok School in Brooklyn\, a private pre-K through middle school. Prior to that\, she taught a decade of yoga to children all over NYC through Bent on Learning. Currently\, she is writing poetry\, loving nature\, and creating educational materials to expand and share her curricular vision. Audrey is an artist\, writer\, educator\, and community organizer. \n\nSunday Platform is our most important and long-standing community event. These gatherings educate\, stimulate personal growth\, inspire reflection and action\, and strengthen our community. Sunday meetings usually begin with music\, followed by greetings and a talk given by a Society Leader\, member\, or guest.  Platforms cover a variety of topics that reflect current events\, pressing social issues\, and Ethical Culture philosophy. A collection basket is passed and money is shared between the Society and a charity selected for that day.  While contributions are always appreciated\, Sunday meetings are free and open to the public.  Each Sunday meeting is followed by a luncheon and social hour. \nTo view previous Sunday Platform addresses and interviews\, visit the Ethical NYC YouTube channel. \n\nEthics for Children is our Humanist Sunday school\, designed for youngsters from ages 4 to 13\, and takes place concurrent with our Sunday Platform meetings. Sessions raise issues of personal identity and integrity\, appreciation and respect for others\, and knowledge of religions\, philosophies\, and social concerns. Topics are explored in an age-appropriate way through discussion\, storytelling\, dramatization\, music\, art\, games\, and field trips. \nYEE has moved online with Zoom\, and as always\, newcomers and visitors are welcome! To join\, please RSVP to Youth Programs Director Audrey Kindred at youngethicalexplorers@gmail.com.
