DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: Out of an abundance of caution\, this month’s two sessions of Ethics and the Theater have moved entirely online via Zoom. We hope to return to in-person readings and discussions as soon as possible. \n********** \nOur long-running staged reading and discussion series continues with the Pulitzer Prize-winning Cost of Living by Martyna Majok: \nTruck driver Eddie struggles to reconnect with his estranged and partially paralyzed wife\, Ani. Jess\, overeducated and underemployed\, takes a job assisting John\, a graduate student with cerebral palsy and an only partly merited sense of entitlement. In her unsentimental\, blackly funny Pulitzer Prize-winning play\, Martyna Majok unspools the stories of these mismatched pairs in parallel\, until their paths dramatically and poignantly\, intersect. \nPerformed by Mary Theresa Archbold\, Daniel Damiano\, Christopher Imbrosciano\, and Valerie Terranova. Directed by Kathy Gail MacGowan. \nAfter the play\, member Betsy Ungar will moderate an open discussion about the ethical issues raised and explored in the work.
