SUMMARY:Speaking of Science: The Magic of Math and Statistics (Online)
DESCRIPTION:Speaking of Science continues on Zoom\, featuring a 40-minute talk followed by a Q&A. Society member Carol Portlock moderates. \nThis month\, our own member and mathematician Bob Bumcrot will guide us through an exploration of the ‘magic’ of math and statistics. \nAbout Our Speaker \nBob Bumcrot is a mathematician (though not a statistician) who served as a professor at Ohio State\, the University of Sussex\, and Hofstra University\, where he occasionally taught introductory statistics and from which he is now retired. \nHe has written several books\, papers\, and chapters\, and was active in the Mathematical Association of America and the American Mathematical Society\, where he was a reviewer for over fifty years. \nClick to join at start | Zoom ID 838 1778 1084 | Passcode 675527
