DESCRIPTION:FREE All-Ages Gathering! \nCelebrate inspirational women at Ethical’s 7th Annual Claudette Colvin Festival and help launch Civil Rights Warrior\, a new memoir by Civil Rights Movement activist Evelyn Jones Rich. \nHosted by Ethical NYC and LaborArts\, with collaborating support from Writopia Lab\, the Ghandi-King Sesson for Nonviolence\, and Project PeaceLights. \nAt age 15 in Montgomery\, Alabama\, Claudette Colvin refused to move to the back of a bus. Her determination and courage inspired Rosa Parks’ famous protest against bus segregation just nine months later. \nAt age 92\, lifelong activist Evie Rich wrote a memoir about her adventures in education and civil rights. \nThe program features stories about Colvin\, remarks from Rich\, and a chance for intergenerational discussions about who inspires us – young and old. \nRefreshments served. \nRSVP\nRSVP on Eventbrite
