SUMMARY:Screening & Discussion: 'Broadway\, Bars and Fortune: A Story of Incarceration and Redemption'
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a free screening of the powerful new 40-minute documentary Broadway\, Bars\, and Fortune that highlights the work of our friends at The Fortune Society\, followed by a conversation with director Dr. Shuvendu Sen\, Fortune Society founder David Rothenberg\, and others from the film! \nIn a climate of increasing crime and high recidivism\, an organization chooses a unique path of transformation through arts and theater. \nThis is the story of four formerly incarcerated souls turned actors\, their travails\, their indomitable courage\, and their triumphant return to their lives. \nBroadway\, Bars\, and Fortune is a documentary on courage\, hope\, and arts entwined in an encircling embrace of human bondage. A reminder that formal acceptance and adoption of such measures during the period of incarceration can be life changing and often lifesaving. \nRead more about the film at Theater News and Splashmags. \n>>>RSVP on Eventbrite
