SUMMARY:Democracy at the Crossroads: What’s at Stake in the 2026 Midterms with Tim Wise (Online)
DESCRIPTION:Presented by the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture \nAs the nation barrels toward the pivotal 2026 midterm elections\, the stakes for democratic institutions\, civil rights\, and social equity have never been higher. Join acclaimed author\, activist\, and political commentator Tim Wise for an unvarnished examination of the cultural currents and political battles defining this election cycle. Drawing on three decades of frontline anti-racism organizing and sharp media analysis\, Tim Wise will unpack how voter disenfranchisement and ideological backlash are shaping the road to the ballot. A huge voter turnout\, a tsunami of the thinking population\, can change the current political direction. Come with us\, move past the daily cycle of horse-race polling. Join with us to energize your participation with those of your neighbors\, friends and family. People who respect the Constitution must protect this democracy. Organize effectively to bring out the vote! Support resilient communities to ensure the Big Beautiful Change on November 3rd. \nTim Wise is a leading voice on culture\, politics\, and power with three decades of experience advocating for racial justice. A prolific speaker and author of nine books—including the acclaimed memoir White Like Me—he has spoken at over 1\,700 college campuses and trained professionals across corporate\, civic\, and educational sectors. Wise is a frequent commentator on CNN and MSNBC and currently serves as a Senior Fellow at the African American Policy Forum.
