SUMMARY:Metropolitan Presents: Gaelic Storm
DESCRIPTION:Multi-national\, Celtic juggernaut Gaelic Storm will perform at Adler Hall at New York Society for Ethical Culture on Saturday March 28\, 2026 at 8:00PM along with special guest JigJam. \nIt’s hard to imagine a band just coming into their own after 20 years of success\, but that’s exactly what makes a true anomaly. Gaelic Storm\, a multi-national\, Celtic juggernaut grows stronger with each live performance\, and after two decades and over 2000 shows\, they are a true force to be reckoned with. \nThe band attributes their continued success to their fanatic audience\, and it’s a well-diversified crowd for sure – attracting fans of every genre with their rich storytelling\, energetic instrumentals\, devotion to Celtic traditions and passion for their stagecraft. They are as loyal to their fans as the fans are to them\, as front man Patrick Murphy states\, “The fans are the ones that have given us this life. We’re here for them.” \nGaelic Storm takes a true blue-collar\, hard-nose approach to touring\, consistently traveling the US and internationally forging a unique path in the Celtic music world. “You have to see us live. We are the true working-man’s’ band\,” says longtime member Ryan Lacey. “We still\, and most likely always will\, tour most of the year\, and that’s how we constantly hone our craft.” \nThis dedication to their live show dates all the way back to the mid-1990s\, when Gaelic Storm kicked off its’ career as a pub band in Santa Monica\, California. One which performance led to their discovery that ultimately found the band appearing in the blockbuster film\, Titanic (where they performed “Irish Party in Third Class”). This laid the groundwork for a career that would eventually find them topping the Billboard World Chart six times\, making appearances at mainstream music festivals\, and regularly headlining the largest Irish Festivals across the country\, all while gaining a reputation as a genre-bending Irish rock band whose songs mix Celtic traditions with something uniquely creative. \nRecent years have seen the addition of Natalya Kay on fiddle and Parker Hastings on guitar\, who both bring their own energy\, musicianship and spirit to Gaelic Storm. \nTickets\nClick here to purchase \n— \nNotice: This event is managed and ticketed by Metropolitan Entertainment.

SUMMARY:Shapes of Change: Jody Sperling/Time Lapse Dance 25th Anniversary Season Night 1
DESCRIPTION:Pay-What-You-Can Pricing for All Show Tickets! \nFor two-and-a-half decades\, choreographer Jody Sperling and her Time Lapse Dance ensemble have been creating stunning spectacles that illuminate the relationship between the human body and the natural world while reckoning with climate change realities. Since 2022\, Sperling and company have been Eco-Artists-in-Residence at the New York Society for Ethical Culture\, co-presenting programs that embody an ethical and ecological ethos. Shapes of Change celebrates the 25th Anniversary of Time Lapse Dance and the 150th Anniversary of the New York Society for Ethical Culture with two unique performances (come to both!) featuring a world premiere and repertory favorites at the Society’s historic Adler Hall. \nThe world premiere\, Sea Change\,is a poetic reimagining of humanity’s relationship with water in the wake of rising sea levels. Performed by the company’s six exquisite dancers\, the dance delves into somatic experiences of submersion and conjures a misty realm between sea and sky. The work continues a decade-long collaboration between Sperling and Emmy Award-winning environmental composer Matthew Burtner. For the season\, Burtner performs live and conducts a quartet of New Consort vocalists to evoke a hauntingly luminous sea of sound. \nProgram A (Friday) features two other Sperling-Burtner collaborations: Fractal Memories\, originally created for the documentary Obsessed with Light\, which traces the entanglement of bodies through time; and Plastic Harvest\, a romp about plastic proliferations. Performance followed by a reception honoring theatrical legend\, and Time Lapse Dance founding Board member\, Gail Merrifield Papp. \nProgram B (Saturday) features the Sperling-Burtner collaborations:Wind Rose\, visualizing patterns of atmospheric disturbance; and excerpts from the visually-hypnotic Arbor\, dwelling on the intimacy of trees. Saturday’s performance is followed by an artist talkback. \nAll of these works feature transformative costumes that abstract human movement into elemental and organic forces\, with the dancers appearing to conjure the oceans eddies\, a growing forest\, or hovering storm clouds. The company’s unique style of movement draws inspiration from and furthers the art form created by dance icon Loie Fuller (1862-1928) a century ago. \nIn keeping with an ethical ethos\, all performance tickets are offered at pay-what-you-can pricing. \nProgram A – Friday\, April 24\nFractal Memories\nPlastic Harvest\nSea Change\nFollowed by a Separately Ticketed Reception \nProgram B – Saturday\, April 25\nWind Rose\nArbor (excerpts)\nSea Change\nIncluding Artist Talkback \n>>>Purchase Tickets Here\nDancers: Frances Barker\, Elinor Kleber Diggs\, Tessa Fungo\, Anika Hunter\, Maki Kitahara\, Lo Poppy\, Sarah Tracy\, and Rathi Varma \nJody Sperling/Time Lapse Dance programs are made possible in part by an ongoing eco-artist-residency at The New York Society for Ethical Culture\, with public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council\, with support from the Heinrich Böll Foundation Washington\, DC\, and the Harkness Foundation for Dance.

SUMMARY:Metropolitan Presents: RIOPY
DESCRIPTION:Jean-Philippe Rio-Py\, known to the world as RIOPY\, is a pianist and multi-instrumentalist composer with over a billion streams\, sold-out concerts across continents\, collaborations with the likes of Lana Del Rey\, and a catalogue of albums that have topped the classical charts. But beneath the numbers lies something far more human: a story of resilience\, survival\, and a man who has discovered sound as a vessel for healing. 2026 marks the release of RIOPY’s fifth album Be Love\, an appeal born out of the artist’s awe-inspiring journey of rediscovery and defiance\, and a refusal to let fear or illness silence him. \n“It’s called Be Love because that’s the only thing that matters. Be love. And if we all love\, then everything is fine\,” he says simply. \nBe Love will see RIOPY sing for the very first time on a release. The composer-instrumentalist has utilized numerous ways to produce sound\, just never his own voice. “I had this compulsion\, this need to use my voice\, because I think it’s one of the biggest fears I’ve had through my life. But it’s something I really enjoy doing.”  He shares\, “I started just whispering… it’s not a new me\, it’s just an expansion of what I do. It felt right\, because I needed to do this.” \nDon’t miss out this unique opportunity to witness RIOPY’s most intimate work. \n>>> Get Tickets

SUMMARY:The FIXX: Colin Blunstone (The voice of the Zombies) and Peter Asher
DESCRIPTION:NEW DATE: October 1\, 2026. Previously September 10\, 2026. Tickets purchased for September 10 will be honored on October 1. Tickets will be refunded for those who cannot make the new date. \nMulti-platinum rockers The FIXX\, Colin Blunstone (the legendary voice of The Zombies) and Peter Asher (of Peter & Gordon) join forces for a remarkable night of Brit-rock that transcends generations. They’re all coming to Adler Hall at New York Society for Ethical Culture on Thursday\, October 1 at 7:00PM.  Tickets will be available at www.eventbrite.com starting on Friday\, June 26 at 10:00AM. \nOften heralded as one of the most innovative bands to come out of the MTV era\, The FIXX sound is unmistakably unique and stands out among the thousands of artists filling the airwaves. Songs such as “One Thing Leads To Another\,” “Red Skies” and “Saved By Zero” remain everyday staples in television\, films and on radio stations that continue to break new acts inspired by the era that The FIXX helped to define. The FIXX were then\, and still are now: Cy Curnin on vocals\, Rupert Greenall on keyboards\, Jamie West-Oram on guitar\, Adam Woods on drums\, and bassist Dan K. Brown. \nColin Blunstone\, lead singer of The Zombies\, will bring his career-spanning show which features classics from The Zombies\, favourites from his solo releases and collaborations. The world first fell in love with Blunstone’s mysteriously silky voice on the 1960’s singles “She’s Not There\,” “Tell Her No” and “Time of the Season.” The band’s untimely demise in late 1967 led Blunstone into a solo career which began in earnest with the release of the lush and string-laden One Year in 1971. He has released 10 albums of his own over a period spanning more than 50 years. \nWe first came to know him through the Lennon/McCartney-penned global smash “World Without Love” as one half of the British Invasion duo Peter & Gordon. But Peter Asher ultimately became a legend in the entertainment world as an A & R executive for the Beatles’ Apple Records\, and as manager and/or producer of the likes of James Taylor\, Linda Ronstadt\, Carole King\, Joni Mitchell\, Diana Ross\, Cher\, Neil Diamond\, Morrissey\, Roger Waters and so many more. His worked reached incredible heights of both success and creativity\, landing him on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine in the 70s and finally resulting in a trip to Buckingham Palace as he became a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 2015. \nThis concert is managed and ticketed by Metropolitan Entertainment. \n>>Purchase Tickets Here

SUMMARY:Concert - Manchester Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:Produced by Metropolitan Entertainment and Le Poisson Rouge \nAcross six studio albums\, Atlanta indie rock band Manchester Orchestra has honed a cinematic sound featuring intricate guitar work and unmistakable raw vocals from Andy Hull. The band has become a tentpole of indie rock over the past two decades\, making national TV appearances\, playing main stages at festivals such as Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza\, garnering numerous sync placements\, and topping charts across alternative and AAA radio (most notably 2017’s “The Gold”). \nAs part of a short tour celebrating twenty years of I’m Like a Virgin Losing A Child\, Hull and McDowell return to the band’s energetic\, emo-tinged roots to perform the album in its entirety. The teenage band’s first full length output\, called “a certifiable indie rock classic” by BrooklynVegan\, is a portrait of angst and serves as a foundation for Manchester Orchestra’s emotionally- charged discography to come. Following the album play\, the duo will perform a selection of greatest hits from across their career. \n>> Purchase Tickets Here\n
