SUMMARY:Sunday Platform with Curt Collier: Who Owns the Moral Life in a Democracy?
DESCRIPTION:Free in-person and online! \nWe are often blindsided when our government acts unethically\, yet we continue to expect it to serve as our moral compass. While influential think tanks like the Heritage Foundation argue that the state must reclaim the “moral center\,” Jean-Jacques Rousseau proposed the exact opposite: true moral authority resides solely with the people. If Rousseau is right\, have average Americans lost their grip on the nation’s conscience? Join us as we explore whether we still hold the levers of morality—and how we might take them back. \nCommunity lunch follows\, free for first-time guests and families participating in the Young Ethical Explorers Program. \nRSVP\n>>>RSVP to join Online \nMonthly Collection\nThe New York Society for Ethical Culture \nAbout Sunday Platform\nSunday Platform is our most important and long-standing community event.
