Great Literature Discussion Group: Nervous Conditions by Tsitsi Dangarembga

Literary works will be discussed based on what can be found in the text in order to enrich each other’s interpretation of the novel/novella. All are welcome to join and any edition or translation of the book under discussion can be used.

Tambu, a young Shona woman speaks about her fight for an education and also tells about the lives of four women she loves. Publisher’s Weekly said that “in many ways, this novel becomes Tambu’s keening — a resonant, eloquent tribute to the women in her life and their losses.” Zimbabwean author Tsitsi Dangarembga ranks 66^th on the BBC’s 100 stories that changed the world.
