League of Women Voters Presents Adrienne Kivelson: “How You Can Impact the 2021-2022 NYC Budget” (Online)

New York City residents can have more impact than they think on how the city budget is developed and allocated. Adrienne Kivelson, author of the League’s publication What Makes New York City Run? will share insights on how New Yorkers and advocacy groups can participate in and influence the budget making process.

Adrienne Kivelson is the author of the League’s publication What Makes New York City Run? She wrote the book at the request of the League in 1979 to serve as a citizen’s guide to New York City government. She updated the book in 1991, 2001 and 2018.

Professionally, Adrienne, now retired, had a distinguished career in public service for the federal, state and city governments. She was the District Administrator for two members of Congress, chief of staff for a member of the City Council and for a member of the State Assembly, and she the Associate Director of the New York State Division for Women in the administration of Governor Mario Cuomo. She also served many years in government housing agencies, including the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Adrienne, a member of the League for over forty years, is a resident of Flushing, Queens.
