SUMMARY:Sunday Platform with Ethics and the Theater: PROTEST by Vaclav Havel
DESCRIPTION:A successful writer ponders whether to sign a letter protesting the government detention of a young singer. Easy. But this is 1970s communist-ruled Czechoslovakia. And the letter was penned by a prominent dissident recently released from prison — who is standing there\, awaiting the decision. Where to draw the line between heroism and recklessness\, prudence and cowardice? \nPerformed by Arthur Aulisi and Mark Hofmaier. Directed by Susanna Frazer \nMonthly Collection: TREEage \nCOVID-19 Notice: Vaccination is required. Masks are optional but encouraged. \n\nSunday Platform is our most important and long-standing community event. These gatherings educate\, stimulate personal growth\, inspire reflection and action\, and strengthen our community. Sunday meetings begin with music\, followed by greetings and a talk given by a Society Leader\, member\, or guest.  Platforms cover a variety of topics that reflect current events\, pressing social issues\, and Humanist philosophy. Each Sunday meeting is followed by a luncheon and social hour. \nTo watch previous Sunday Platforms\, visit our Videos page and YouTube channel.
