Prior to that\, she served as the settled minister of All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church in Colorado Springs\, CO for 13 years. She previously was a minister in Metropolitan Community Churches (a queer Christian denomination) for 20 years before outgrowing the Christian faith. \nShe is passionate about social justice and has been involved in social rights activism since she was 17. She is an outspoken advocate for justice and equity and has received numerous awards and recognition for her work. \nNori holds a Master of Divinity from Iliff School of Theology in Denver\, Colorado\, and a Doctor of Ministry from the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge\, Massachusetts. In addition\, she holds a Certificate for Spiritual Direction from the Benet Hill Center in Colorado Springs\, Colorado and is also a Certified Life Mastery Consultant with Brave Thinking Institute. \nMonthly Collection\nMy Own Book \nAbout Sunday Platform\nSunday Platform is our most important and long-standing community event. These gatherings educate\, stimulate personal growth\, inspire reflection and action\, and strengthen our community. Sunday meetings begin with music\, followed by greetings and a talk given by a Society Leader\, member\, or guest.  Platforms cover a variety of topics that reflect current events\, pressing social issues\, and Humanist philosophy. SUMMARY:Speaking of Science with Steven Glazer: 'Project Preservation: Bearing Witness and Responding to Genocide'
DESCRIPTION:Join this month’s Speaking of Science for a talk by Steven Glazer about Project Preservation\, and his efforts to educate youth about the Holocaust. Q&A follows. \nFor twenty years\, Dartmouth College students have traveled to Eastern and Central Europe as participants in Project Preservation. Leading up to the trip\, students spend eight weeks studying the rise of Nazi Germany and the Shoah. Upon arrival in Poland\, the group spends a day at the Auschwitz-Birkenau complex. Thereafter\, the group dedicates one week to restoring a cemetery in a once-vibrant Jewish community. College students join with community partners to engage in seven days of service\, reflection\, and restoration. Tonight’s presentation will focus on Project Preservation’s work in Sanok\, Poland\, in 2010. \nAbout Steven Glazer\nSteven Glazer is an English teacher at Crossroads Academy in Lyme\, New Hampshire. Before joining the Crossroads faculty\, Steven directed the award-winning Valley Quest program. Between 2009 and 2014\, he was the service project coordinator for Project Preservation.
