Lunch and beverages provided! \nAbout Liz Krueger \nLiz Krueger has served in the New York State Senate since 2002. She is currently the Chair of the Senate Finance Committee and a member of the Budget and Revenue and Rules Committees. \nPrior to serving the people of New York\, Senator Krueger was the Associate Director of the Community Food Resource Center (CFR)\, for 15 years\, where she was responsible for directing its efforts to expand access to government programs for low-income New Yorkers. Before joining CFRC\, Liz Krueger was the founding Director of the New York City Food Bank\, building that organization into one that now serves over 1\,100 emergency food programs\, senior centers\, day-care centers\, and other community-based programs serving an estimated 5.4 million meals each year. \nShe is a graduate of Northwestern University\, with a Bachelors degree in Social Policy and Human Development. Since the death of Felix Adler\, Ethical Culture’s founder\, the implicit underlying philosophy animating Ethical Culture has been the thought of John Dewey. This series will explain the basis of Dewey’s ethical thought and how it relates to our social role in democracy. He is an expert on the thought of John Dewey and published two books on Albert Camus. He is currently completing a book that proposes a philosophical defense of free will. David is a longtime member of the Long Island Ethical Humanist Society. An activist\, David was the founder and\, for 20 years\, the president of the Long Island Progressive Coalition.
