She’ll cover their focus areas\, organizing\, base building\, outreach\, leadership\, civic engagement\, and the electoral process and upcoming GOTV efforts. \nCommunity lunch follows\, free for first-time guests! \nJoin Online\nRSVP to join on Zoom here \nAbout Pamela Stewart-Martinez\nPamela Stewart-Martinez (she/her) is WE ACT for Environmental Justice’s Director of Civic Engagement & Organizing. She is based in the New York office and is helping to build and wage our voter and civic engagement campaigns as well as organizing and growing our membership. Prior to joining WE ACT\, Pamela was elected to the office of Female District Leader for New York State’s 87th Assembly District\, responsible for electing the Chair of the county party\, appointing election workers at local poll sites\, helping to select the nominees for vacant Civil Court judgeships\, and assisting in organizing political activities in her districts. She has worked on municipal and state political campaigns and also served as President of the Bronx High School Federation\, Co-President of the Citywide Council on Special Education\, 2nd Vice President of CPAC\, and a Parent Teacher Association President at a local public school. Pamela lives in New York City with her husband Victor and their seven children. In her spare time\, she enjoys listening to music\, playing board games\, and participating in arts and crafts with her children. \nMonthly Collection\nYoung Ethical Explorers AIDS Walk NYC Team \nAbout Sunday Platform\nSunday Platform is our most important and long-standing community event. These gatherings educate\, stimulate personal growth\, inspire reflection and action\, and strengthen our community. Sunday meetings begin with music\, followed by greetings and a talk given by a Society Leader\, member\, or guest.  Platforms cover a variety of topics that reflect current events\, pressing social issues\, and Humanist philosophy. DESCRIPTION:Newcomers are always welcome! \nEvery other week we’re joined by Gabriella Belfiglio\, a long-time anti-bullying and self-defense teacher (and award-winning poet!) who will lead children in becoming empowered to express themselves and resolve conflicts with confidence and compassion–to become ‘upstanders’ not merely bystanders. \nChildren will learn how to stand up for themselves and others\, and gain resilience through skill-focused exercises and explorations led by Gabriella. This will be joyful and fun\, but will empower children with essential tools to face difficult moments\, hurt feelings\, and challenging peer pressures at school\, on the playground\, and beyond. \nFREE!
