From lying about having Jewish grandparents who escaped the Holocaust, to where he worked, went to school, and more, now reports are surfacing that Santos ran a fraudulent GoFundMe account that was supposed to pay for surgery for the dying dog of a veteran. And more. While state Repubiclans are demanding he resign, Kevin McCarthy and others in Congress are silent on the matter. Should Santos be forced to resign? Perhaps more importantly, should people seeking public office at the highest levels have to undergo background checks to verify the veracity of their claims?
