Ethical Adventures: Museum of Arts and Design

May 25, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 3:00 pm

“Garmenting: Costuming as Contemporary Art” at M.A.D. is the first global survey exhibition dedicated to the use of clothing as a medium of visual art, showing the work of 35 artists. By making or altering clothing for expressive purposes, these artists create garments, sculpture, installation, and performance art that transform dress into a critical tool. Garmenting uses the language of fashion to challenge traditional divisions of form and function, cast a critical eye on the construction of gender, advance political activism, and address cultural difference. And it’s fun and thought-provoking to look at!

Details: We’ll meet at Ethical at 10:30 and walk down to the museum at Columbus Circle to enjoy the exhibit. General Admission is $18, seniors $14. For those staying on for lunch, we’ll go to The Greek Kitchen on the corner of 58th Street and 10th Ave. RSVP — Elinore Kaplan, ethicaloutlook@gmail.com
