Join us for a special online reading of Having Our Say by playwright Emily Mann, followed by a discussion.

The play is a conversation with the Delaney sisters, two African American women who, having lived to be more than 100 years old, experienced key events and movements in black history, like the flowering of Harlem’s Golden Age, and were friends with such legendary figures as Booker T. Washington, Langston Hughes, W.E.B. Du Bois, and Paul Robeson. It’s a story of triumph over hardship and prejudice, as one sister breaks barriers to become a dentist and the other quietly integrates the New York City school system as a teacher.
