Ethics and The Theater: “My Name is Lucy Barton” (Online)
March 11 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Join us for our monthly staged reading and discussion, now online! Following the play reading, Betsy Ungar will lead an audience discussion of the ethical issues of the play. This month’s play is My Name is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout, adapted by Rona Munro.
In Rona Munro’s haunting stage adaptation of Elizabeth Strout’s acclaimed novel, the title character recalls her long stay in a hospital for a mysterious illness, which proved a turning point in her relationships with her mother, husband, and children, while provoking memories of her hardscrabble childhood and her escape from it through writing.
