Ethics and the Theater: The Model Apartment by Donald Margulies

Our long-running play reading and discussion series continues with The Model Apartment:
Lola and Max escaped to America from the Holocaust, and now they have escaped to Florida from Brooklyn and their troubled daughter. But their haven for the night is a mirage: a model apartment where the appliances are for show only and ashtrays are glued down. Hilariously and horrifyingly, it is gradually revealed that their escapes are equally illusory, as they carry with them all they hoped to have fled.
