Freedom Under Siege Public Forum (Online)

May 17, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

The Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island, Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Shelter Rock, and The Episcopal Diocese of Long Island invite you to join our Zoom forum.

An unprecedented attack on our system of representative government is now underway across the country. Increasingly, candidates that lose at the polls are refusing to concede their defeat and instead attack the integrity of the election. In order to defend our free institutions of representative government, non-partisan religious and community groups have organized a public forum to publicize these threats to our freedom and to suggest ways in which a concerned citizenry can defend our system from attack.

Hear from Faith Leaders and Non-Partisan Thinkers:

Bob Keeler, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter

Shaireen Rasheed, Professor of Philosophy, Education and Diversity

Solomon Hoffman, Rabbinical Student

Rev. Marie Tatro, Vicar for Community Justice Ministry, Episcopal Dioceses of Long Island

The forum will propose “The Candidate’s Pledge” which commits a candidate to accept and affirm the legitimacy of our system of free elections. Signing the Pledge will show that the candidate – regardless of party – supports our system of representative government. Click here to view the Pledge.
