Gena Branscombe Project: ‘Winds of Change, Songs of Time: The Musical Legacy of the National League of American Pen Women’

The Gena Branscombe Project is presenting “Winds of Change, Songs of Time” a concert honoring the first women composers who in 1923 were invited to join the National League of American Pen Women. Please join us Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 5 PM at the New York Society for Ethical Culture.
Well known and leaders in their day, these women helped pave the way for today’s women composers through their involvement with women’s clubs. They sponsored concerts of their own compositions, presented speeches nationwide encouraging members to perform concerts of American music and in particular, American women composers at their local level.
