Leader’s Lunchtime Roundtable: John Roberts and The Supremes (Hybrid)

May 25, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Bring your lunch and join Leader Dr. Nori Rost and members for an engaging round-table discussion on the issues of the day and recommended readings.

Recent news reports reveal that some of the justices on the United States Supreme Court have been engaging in highly unethical behavior in regards to relationships (both financial and personal) with wealthy people who have business with the Supreme Court. Chief Justice John Roberts has declined a request to meet with a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on ethics reform for SCOTUS. Allegedly, justices “self-govern” to ensure that ethical standards are kept. But is this actually true? Should SCOTUS have an enforceable code of ethics? Who should create it? Who should enforce it?
