Join the League of Women Voters of NYC for a discussion on Eleanor Roosevelt’s Legacy: A Champion for Women’s Rights and Equality

Eleanor Roosevelt was one of the world’s most widely admired and powerful women in her time. She was born into wealth and privilege, but fought again racism, injustice and advocated for the advancement of all women. Professor Blanche Cook will discuss the impact she made in her lifetime and how she redefined the role of first lady.

Speaker: Blanche Wiesen Cook is a professor of history and women’s studies at the CUNY Graduate Center and John Jay College, and the author of an award-winning three-volume biography of Eleanor Roosevelt. Blanche is the former Vice President for Research of the American Historical Association and was Vice President and Chair of the Fund for Open Information and Accountability.
