Danny Goldberg: Art, Entertainment, Morality and Resistance to Trumpism (Hybrid)

March 27, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 12:15 pm

In-person and online!

Danny Goldberg has spent much of the last couple of years researching the political role of hundreds of actors, writers, singers, comedians, and others in the creative community. He will be speaking about the role of artists in the digital era in an ideologically and religiously diverse society, and of their role in nourishing a shared social morality.

Danny Goldberg is the author of the recently published Bloody Crossroads 2020: Art, Entertainment, and Resistance to Trump, as well as other books. He is a longtime executive in the music business and currently runs the management company, Gold Village Entertainment. Mr. Goldberg is a graduate of Fieldston (class of 1967), where his favorite teacher was Ethics professor, Dr. Matthew Ies Spetter. He is also the parent of two Fieldston graduates, Kay (2008) and Max (2012).

Notice: Only fully-vaccinated individuals are invited to attend in-person at this time.

Sunday Platform is our most important and long-standing community event. These gatherings educate, stimulate personal growth, inspire reflection and action, and strengthen our community. Sunday meetings usually begin with music, followed by greetings and a talk given by a Society Leader, member, or guest.  Platforms cover a variety of topics that reflect current events, pressing social issues, and Ethical Culture philosophy. A collection basket is passed and money is shared between the Society and a charity selected for that day.  While contributions are always appreciated, Sunday meetings are free and open to the public.  Each Sunday meeting is followed by a luncheon and social hour.
