Sunday Platform with Clara Moisello: ‘Words that Connect: An Introduction to Compassionate Communication’

Sun November 15 | 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM
Free

Free in-person and online!

Compassionate Communication, also known as Nonviolent Communication (NVC), was developed by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg and has evolved over decades into skills and practices that deepen connection and compassion in every relationship, including the one with ourselves. At its heart lies a simple idea: when we identify, understand and connect to the universal human needs and values behind our words and actions, rather than diagnosing and judging, we become far more able to truly see one another and to resolve conflict without violence.

In this talk, Dr. Clara Moisello, Lead Trainer and Co-Director of the New York Center for Nonviolent Communication, will introduce NVC’s core principles, showing how we can think, speak and listen with a focus on needs. When we bring this focus into our daily conversations, even moments of tension can become an opportunity to discover what matters to everyone involved and to find a way forward together.

Community lunch follows, free for first-time guests and families participating in the Young Ethical Explorers Program.
