Join The American Slavery Project for the premiere of The Reverberation Plays, a five-part audio drama series with soundscapes and minimal visuals that dramatize how Black History isn’t an event, it’s a legacy. Each premiere is accompanied by a scholar-led conversation illuminating the themes of each play. All events will be streamed with a live talkback following the show. Phylicia Rashad also returns to direct our last premiere, “Second Sight”!

February 5: “Throw Pitchfork” Written & performed by Alexander Thomas
Directed by Sara Lampert Hoover (Originally taped at Kitchen Theatre Company)

Deep wounds left on a man’s psyche are passed onto a generation of sons. Told with humor and pathos by one of those sons, this true story puts human faces on the fallout of America’s original sin.

Don’t miss the post-performance talk-back moderated by Judy Tate: “The Legacies of Jim Crow and Black Family Dynamics with Dr. Mikal Rasheed, Author of “Family Therapy with Ethnic Minorities.”
