The Ethical Culture Institute at the New York Society for Ethical Culture (ECI at NYSEC, or just ECI) was founded by the NYSEC Board of Trustees on February 26, 2025. The purposes of the ECI start with the commitment to promote the Ethical factor in all aspects of life through: educational forums; research; publications; and other means to preserve and disseminate the intellectual history of thought of the Ethical Culture Movement.

- October 16, 2025 – Online presentation and discussion of the purposes and activities of the ECI for members of NYSEC and others who wish to participate in the ECI’s activities.
- November 5, 2025 – “Bag lunch” with Dr. Eric Luckey (University of Wisconsin-Whitewater) to discuss his research on the role of NYSEC and Ethical Culture in promoting the separation of church and state in the US.
- December 7, 2025 – “Ethical Culture and Universal Human Rights,” Carolyn A. Parker, PhD, speaking at Riverdale-Yonkers Society for Ethical Culture.
- December 10, 2025 – Reception to celebrate the publication of “new” lectures presented to NYSEC at Carnegie Hall in the 1894-1895 season.

Carolyn A. Parker, PhD.
Senior Research Fellow

Dr. Parker is a member of the Ethical Society of Austin and serves as its representative on the American Ethical Union Board of Directors. She is a member of NYSEC and serves on the Board of Trustees. She also chairs the NYSEC Archives Committee.
Dr. Richard Koral
Ethical Culture Leader

Dr. Koral is a member of the Westchester Society for Ethical Culture and serves as clergy leader for both the New York Society for Ethical Culture and the Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island.
Curt Collier
Ethical Culture Leader

Professor Collier teaches Ethics at Fairleigh-Dickenson University. He serves as clergy leader for the New York Society for Ethical Culture and the Ethical Culture Society of Bergen County.
