Sunday Platform with Carey Russell: ‘A Citizen’s Guide to the Natural History of NYC Pt. 1: Living in a Watershed’

June 1 @ 11:00 am - 12:15 pm

Free in-person and online. Join us for the first session in a new series with naturalist and photographer Carey Russell of The Dendro Lab!

What is a watershed and what does it mean to live within one? Within which watershed do New Yorkers make their home? How far does it reach and what are its particular characteristics and challenges? We will answer these questions and many more, while exploring different ways of seeing and relating to our regional geography and how applying this awareness can make us all better citizens.

Community lunch follows, free for first-time guests!

About Sunday Platform

Sunday Platform is our most important and long-standing community event. These gatherings educate, stimulate personal growth, inspire reflection and action, and strengthen our community. Sunday meetings begin with music, followed by greetings and a talk given by a Society Leader, member, or guest.  Platforms cover a variety of topics that reflect current events, pressing social issues, and Humanist philosophy. Each Sunday meeting is followed by a luncheon and social hour.

To watch previous Sunday Platforms, visit our Videos page and YouTube channel.
