By February 20, 2022No Comments
Explore our list of actions you can take this month to make our city, state, country, and planet a better place!

The motto of The New York Society for Ethical Culture is Deed Above Creed, something we’ve worked to live up to with our tradition of activism and collaboration since 1876.

In that spirit, each month we’re sending out a Call to Action featuring important causes and actions selected by our member committees and allies, because your voice and your deeds matter!

Join the Fight Against Voter Suppression: ‘Reclaim Our Vote’ Returns for 2022 Mid-Term Elections

Ethical Action Committee

Reclaim Our Vote is back for the 2022 mid-term elections! Join in this year’s pivotal campaign sending postcards to voters in eight, and possibly nine states where they’re facing voter suppression efforts.

Our primary focus is on sending Get Out the Vote postcards to currently registered voters, but we will also send voter registration postcards if we can obtain satisfactory data about purged voters from state boards of elections. Out of respect for your time, and to be most effective, we want to provide you with the best data possible.

Here are ROV target states, and the dates of their primary elections:

  • Texas – March 1 (As of February 14, 10,000 cards have already been completed!)
  • North Carolina – May 17
  • Alabama & Georgia – May 24
  • South Carolina – June 14
  • Virginia – June 21
  • Arizona – August 2
  • Florida – August 23
  • Louisiana – November 8 (tentative)

To participate in the campaign, you can request a packet of postcarding materials by contacting Ethical NYC member Janet Rose at jrose@nysec.org.

From our friends at 350NYC: “Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, is the World’s biggest banker of climate destroying fossil fuels. Chase provided over $317B in fossil fuel financing since the signing of the PARIS Agreement. If you bank with Chase, your money is going to companies destroying our climate, our rainforests and our future.”
