September 14: ‘The Gavel Heard Around the World: Global Reproductive Rights After Roe’

By September 13, 2022No Comments

Now that the United States Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade, the world is watching.

On Wednesday, September 14 at 6:30pm, join leaders from the Center for Reproductive Rights, the Guttmacher Institute, and MSI Reproductive Choices for a conversation on the global state of reproductive rights in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s historic decision, moderated by Flora Peir, News Editor at The 19th. Hosted by the New York Society for Ethical Culture, this conversation is the first in their Global Citizens series and will be followed by a Q&A session.

Regression on abortion rights in the United States threatens access to critical sexual and reproductive health services for many of the most marginalized communities in the world – and it emboldens global opposition movements, which often draw funding and strategy from their U.S. counterparts.

This timely dialogue invites all global citizens committed to sexual and reproductive health and rights to consider the far-reaching ramifications of regressive U.S. policies – and to imagine how we can unite to advance these rights around the world as we share stories of resilience and hope from the front lines.
