There are two crucial actions we all must take in 2020: vote and complete the census. Both efforts are facing relentless political attacks, and to protect our democracy we all need to complete each of these vital, responsible, patriotic tasks.
The census is crucial for our communities to receive both accurate representation in Congress and proportional financial support from the federal government. Worryingly, the 2020 census’ counting efforts are being cut one month short, ending soon on September 30. The New York Society for Ethical Culture wants you to know the good news though: it’s easier than ever to complete the census!
You can complete your census application in just ten minutes:
visit my2020census.gov or call 844-330-2020.
Even if you’ve left the city temporarily we still need you to do your part. You do not need a paper form or code to fill out the census, just your name and address.
If you’d like to learn more about the census and its importance, click here to watch our February 17, 2019 Sunday Platform featuring Jeff Behler, New York Regional Director for the U.S. Census Bureau.
Please send this reminder to everyone you know. We all have a responsibility to complete the census in a timely fashion, to help guarantee that all of our communities, and our democracy, receive the benefits of an accurate count.
