The landmarked Morris–Jumel Mansion is the oldest surviving house in Manhattan. Built in 1765 for Roger Morris, a British military officer, the federal-style served as a headquarters for both sides during the course of the American Revolution. The mansion/museum sits atop Mount Morris in Roger Morris Park in Washington Heights (parallel to West 161st Street).
We’ll lunch at the Blue Corn Mexican Restaurant, a short walk from the park, on Amsterdam Avenue just south of 158th Street.
Details: We’ll meet at Ethical at 10:30 and take the #1 train at Broadway & W. 65th uptown to 157th St. The Mansion/Museum is at 65 Jumel Terrace, atop Mount Morris, in Roger Morris Park in Washington Heights. It is parallel to West 161st Street. Admission: $10.
