POSTPONED – Ethics and the Theater: The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams
March 13, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
NOTICE: Out of an abundance of caution, due to the threat of COVID-19 this month’s Ethics and the Theater has been postponed. A new date will be announced soon.
Join Ethics and the Theater as members of the Society and theater professionals read selected plays before a live audience. Readings are followed by discussions of the ethical issues raised by the play.
This classic of the American theater, which catapulted Williams to fame, revolves around the Wingfield family: Tom, an aspiring poet; his mother, Amanda, who dreams of her days as a debutante; and Laura, his painfully shy sister, who escapes into the world of her glass animal figurines. When Tom, pressured by Amanda, brings home a “gentleman caller” for Laura, these illusions, which make their lives bearable, are suddenly threatened.
NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, there will not be a 6:30pm reception before the performance this month.
$5 for members, $10 for the public.
