Lunch with The League of Women Voters: ‘Can NYC Fix Its Housing Crisis?’ with Maria Torres-Springer

New York City is facing a housing crisis as a growing number of migrants and homeless population need places to live. NYC Mayor Eric Adams recently expanded Deputy Mayor Ms. Torres-Springer’s role to include creating 500,000 new homes for New Yorkers over the next decade. She will discuss the administration’s plans to solve this crisis.
About Maria Torres-Springer
Prior to joining the Adams’ administration, Maria Torres-Springer was the Vice President of U.S. Programs at the Ford Foundation. She earned her bachelor’s degree in ethics, politics, and economics from Yale University and a master’s in public policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two daughters.
