Gail Benjamin has 36 years of experience in land use matters, during the last 25 of which she served as the Director of the New York City Council Land Use Division. Prior to her time at the Council, Benjamin served as Co-Director of the City Environmental Review Procedure and as a Representative to the now-defunct NYC Board of Estimate. She is active on a variety of committees and boards.
Ms. Benjamin will explain major revisions to the 2019 City Charter including:
- Implementation of ranked choice voting in primary and special elections
- Additional oversight of the police commissioner
- Increased community input on proposed land use
- Amendments and safeguards to the New York City budget
