Speaking of Science with Steven Glazer: ‘Project Preservation: Bearing Witness and Responding to Genocide’

April 10 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join this month’s Speaking of Science for a talk by Steven Glazer about Project Preservation, and his efforts to educate youth about the Holocaust. Q&A follows.

For twenty years, Dartmouth College students have traveled to Eastern and Central Europe as participants in Project Preservation. Leading up to the trip, students spend eight weeks studying the rise of Nazi Germany and the Shoah. Upon arrival in Poland, the group spends a day at the Auschwitz-Birkenau complex. Thereafter, the group dedicates one week to restoring a cemetery in a once-vibrant Jewish community. College students join with community partners to engage in seven days of service, reflection, and restoration. Tonight’s presentation will focus on Project Preservation’s work in Sanok, Poland, in 2010.
