Growing Peace by Growing Food: An Interview with Steven Hoffen

June 4, 2023 @ 11:00 am - 12:15 pm

In-person and online!

Steven Hoffen, a high school teen from NYC, was inspired to action following a visit to Sindyanna of Galilee, a non-profit agricultural organization in Israel where Arab and Jewish women work together closely to cultivate social change. His film, “Growing Peace in the Middle East” has won awards for best short documentary by capturing the power of cooperation to combat food insecurity while empowering women with meaningful, skilled work. We’ll view the short film followed by an interview with this amazing young man as he describes his journey to activism, his current work as founder of Growing Peace using hydroponics to support local organizations, and how his experience has impacted his life and relationships.
