Sunday Platform with Anne Klaeysen: ‘Anna Garlin Spencer: A Woman for Our Time’

September 8 @ 11:00 am - 12:15 pm

Free and open to the public, in-person and online!

At American Ethical Union Assemblies, we confer the Anna Garlin Spencer Award upon volunteers selected by their respective societies as worthy of recognition. But do we know who she really was besides an associate leader of the NY Society (1904-12)? She was born in Attelboro, MA in 1851 (the same year as Felix Adler in NYC), and, at the time of her death in 1931, was one of the most recognized experts in and writers about the family, as well as a pioneer in women’s suffrage and leader of movements for world peace. Learn more about her and what she still as to teach us today.

About Sunday Platform

Sunday Platform is our most important and long-standing community event. These gatherings educate, stimulate personal growth, inspire reflection and action, and strengthen our community. Sunday meetings begin with music, followed by greetings and a talk given by a Society Leader, member, or guest.  Platforms cover a variety of topics that reflect current events, pressing social issues, and Humanist philosophy. Each Sunday meeting is followed by a luncheon and social hour.
