Since the founding of the Black Lives Matter movement in 2013, after the acquittal of George Zimmerman for the killing of Trayvon Martin, sadly too many other people from BIPOC communities have been gunned down or otherwise killed by police and white vigilantes (as in the case of the murder of Ahmaud Arbery, who was killed for jogging while black.)
If we hope to dismantle white supremacy and see real change, we need to take the words on this banner to heart every day of the year. How can we enact in our own lives, and at Ethical Culture the? What can we do to be the change we seek?
Look for our banner on Central Park West and join our programs exploring this topic throughout the month.
