June 16: Celebrate The International Day of the African Child at Ethical NYC

By June 4, 2024June 7th, 2024No Comments

Young Ethical Explorers celebrates Ethical Teacher, Simba Yangala, as she invites humans of all ages to spend Father’s Day at ETHICAL NYC… a FREE day of FRIENDSHIP…PERFORMANCE…DANCE…PIZZA!

RSVP — even though it’s free so we have enough pizza for all!  A free performance is a gift for us all… it’s also a gift you can give to all you know. Reaching out to share this lovely gift with all those you love and would love to see…will make this day a wonderful opening of summer!  Please spread the word by personalizing and sharing this announcement on your own social media.

This special performance will honor The International Day of The African Child!  Simba was indeed an African Child herself, raised in a country called Zaire, now the Democratic Republic of the Congo. But one thing she knows so deeply and shares so beautifully is that, as we know from evolutionary history, we are all rooted in the land of Africa, the home of human civilization.

Simba has been an Ethical Culture teacher of children for almost two decades, first in Brooklyn and now in NYC too, and she has contributed her art of dance for all ages, throughout all these years, enriching ETHICAL!

On Father’s Day, June 16, 2024 she brings to the ethical NYC community an eclectic international group of performers for a joyful afternoon in the grand Adler Hall.  The performance titled “LumiSense” begins at 3pm, but families and friends are welcome earlier at 2pm for A SOCIAL GATHERING with OPEN PLAY on Ethical’s rooftop, (weather permitting — otherwise in our lower level).  Children can get decorated by the performers for the performance!  Simba’s performances always get everyone (everyone who wants to that is) up and moving by the end! And after the performance we’ll celebrate with free pizza!

The performers, an ensemble of Jungledom Network and Kamutshima Dance Troupe (which means “little heart”) include:

Simba Sandra Yangala, Seika Afiya Hana, Elika Hirano, Alec Lichtenberg, Mark Hana, Natasha Lee Vega Colon, Maria Sosa, Juan David Viveros. You may recognize some of them from January’s Dr. King Day Celebration at ETHICAL NYC!
