Young Ethical Explorers 2021, Full Fall Season calendar
YEE is an inclusive family program beyond “belief.” To visit or register, please contact: YoungEthicalExplorers@gmail.com.
Families may attend, for free, with RSVP. Seasonal contributions are welcome. Most importantly, families are encouraged to apply for Ethical NYC Membership.
Upon arrival, please sign in at the YEE welcome table.
Note that it is requested and recommended that Families register, making a commitment to come as consistently as possible throughout the season. From regular attendance, unique friendships of support develop. Parents are encouraged to participate in the children’s program, or to attend the adult platform.

ORDER OF EVENTS:
Sept 12 at 11am — YEE
With special guest song-leader Barbara Carlson. YEE will be welcoming one another with interactive fun as well as learning and performing a presentation for Ethical NYC’s new Leader, Dr. Nori Rost. By planting this seed of peace in our own Ethical community, YEE will be growing peace visions and offerings as we move forward to the upcoming weeks of global peace work.
Sept. 19 at 11am YEE
YEE will prepare for an Ethical holy-week: The United Nation’s International Peace Day, which takes place officially on September 21 & World Climate Awareness Day, which officially takes place on September 24. YEE will practice being ambassadors of Peace, by creating Peace Day “posters for peace” to offer to our schools and home communities. Sept. 26 at 11am YEE
YEE will dive into a special arts project in honor of Global Climate Awareness. This is an art project so wear or bring a painter’s shirt.

Sept 26 at 1pm- Ethical Education & Parenting Committee — “The village that raises the child” — Community members and parents are welcome to this meeting. It is an open discussion to look at how Ethical Culture’s community can best support families.
October 2 at 11am– First Sunday Series: a Morning of Ethical rooftop play & program prep (only with rsvp) followed by lunch and 1:30 event.

“Peace Through Challenging Times”
This is a monthly “show and tell” forum of Ethical learning. All ages of children and adults from all Ethical societies and partnering communities are welcome to attend. Youth and families are invited to share individual presentations based on the prompts below. Creative prompts are:
“I Treasure Peace… “ or
“Peace Day? Every day….”
October 10 at 11am— since this is a long weekend, we will only be meeting ON ZOOM:
11am — Honoring Indigenous People’s Day, YEE will learn about current ecological leaders rooted in Indigenous cultures.

Oct. 17 at 11am — Ally Day! Centering in Anti-bully Awareness Work, children will learn to “mix it up” — playing with a tool/game (suggested by www.LearningForJustice.org) that helps prevent seeds of bullying from taking root. As ambassadors of peace, they will be offered the materials to share this with their home and school communities.

Oct 24 at 11am- “Oh my!!!” The mystery of fright! This is a gentle deep earnest exploration to explore what spooks and scares… with values of imagination, health and support to guide the way.
Oct 31 at 11am — Diwali! This celebration of Light, with its ancient roots in the traditions of India, will be led by Deepali Srivastava of Writefully Ours.

Nov. 7 at 1:30 ~ FIRST SUNDAY EVENT with Special guest speaker:
Author, JR Becker, creator of the Annabelle & Aiden books, offers his new book, hot of the press: “Oh My Gods: A History of Belief”
Nov. 14 at 11am — Happy Bones Gathering: a homemade celebration inspired by the migration of the monarchs and the Mexican festival of Dia de los Muertos. Bring a picture and a story of a beloved ancestor. Do some family research to prepare!
Nov. 21– 11am —
The Ancestor Walk: Inspired by the mindfulness of valuing seven generations in every decision, We will walk through town with our values, exploring past, present, and future.
Nov. 21 at 1pm- Ethical Education & Parenting Committee — “The village that raises the child” — Community members and parents are welcome to this meeting. It is an open discussion to look at how Ethical Culture’s community can best support families.
Nov 28. No gathering. “Mindful Harvest” — All families are invited at this time to share writings, drawings, and photos in a gratitude and reflection process which will be posted for the whole community on our website.
