Co-sponsored by our friends at The Fortune Society, this Sunday Platform explored the experiences of so-called “systems babies,” or children who grew up under state custody, such as foster care, and spent most of their ensuing years in and out of state systems.
Barry Campbell and Casimiro Torres reflected on their childhoods in state custody and spoke about the army of other children they met, being led to a life of alienation, distrust and prison, and how they broke the cycle. The Fortune Society’s founder David Rothenberg facilitated the discussion.
