Jone Johnson Lewis: When Hope is Hard to Find

By July 28, 2024No Comments

There are some times in our lives when we begin to lose hope.   We lose something we had, or thought we had, and we begin to lose our faith that it will come back again.  Jone Lewis will explore some of the ways in which we can look at hope – not wishful thinking, or a full confidence in the future, but simple hope: “As a humanist, I don’t find a guarantee of a future life meaningful. I want some joy and freedom and love in this life.”

About Sunday Platform

Sunday Platform is our most important and long-standing community event. These gatherings educate, stimulate personal growth, inspire reflection and action, and strengthen our community. Sunday meetings begin with music, followed by greetings and a talk given by a Society Leader, member, or guest.  Platforms cover a variety of topics that reflect current events, pressing social issues, and Humanist philosophy. Each Sunday meeting is followed by a luncheon and social hour.
