The third and final talk explores how we can all strive to integrate land ethics and an ecological conscience into our daily lives, including those of us who live in an urban environment. The Deep Ecology movement, or what poet Gary Snyder calls The Practice of the Wild, endeavors to gain traction at the level of society. But in order to do so, it much first express itself in the imaginations and routine practices of individuals. Let’s explore in concrete terms how everyone can take immediate steps toward cultivating a closer, deeper, and long-term relationship with land and nature.

About Sunday Platform
Sunday Platform is our most important and long-standing community event. These gatherings educate, stimulate personal growth, inspire reflection and action, and strengthen our community. Sunday meetings begin with music, followed by greetings and a talk given by a Society Leader, member, or guest. Platforms cover a variety of topics that reflect current events, pressing social issues, and Humanist philosophy. Each Sunday meeting is followed by a luncheon and social hour.
