Carey Russell: Land Ethics Trilogy, Pt. II

By October 27, 2024October 31st, 2024No Comments

The second of three talks exploring the concept of land ethics, as established in the modern era by Aldo Leopold in his perennial classic A Sand County Almanac. Land ethics expand our ethical frameworks, historically limited to human relationships in Western culture, to include nature. The first talk focused on discovering and cultivating land ethics within our own personal narratives and daily lives. This talk, and the third, address the integration of these values into society and the broader philosophical implications of these values, which we call deep ecology.
